How to Use Drizoro Waterproofing Membranes for Sewers

WHY USE Drizoro Waterproofing Membranes for Sewers, Sealing Sewer Access Chambers or manholes can often become necessary and are caused by many factors,

How to Use Drizoro Waterproofing Membranes for Sewers

Waterproofing membranes for sewers perspective, the waterproofing of sewer tanks Drizoro recommends Drizoro Maxseal Flex which excellent crack bridging.
Drizoro Maxseal Flex – A “Technically Superior multifunction product” that can be applied to

  1. “MOST” surfaces.
  2. Internal and external use.
  3. Below and above ground for negative and positive pressure.
  4. “NOT” needing a separate primer, or finish coating for protection.
  5. “green” concrete; The benefit of this type of application is that it slows curing, reducing shrinkage cracking

Drizoro Maxseal Flex is typically used for waterproofing

  • Concrete Slabs, below and above ground:
  • Roofs, gutters, balconies,
  • under tiles or exposed,
  • can be applied to “green” concrete. This will slow down curing, reducing shrinkage cracking
  • excellent crack bridging up to 3 mm and capable of thermal movement up to 4 mm.
  • On internal concrete under tile, carpet, timber/parquetry, to reduce moisture damage.
  • Sealing water ingress to up to 40 metres of negative, and 90 metres of positive head pressure.
  • Water Containment: Swimming Pools (salt and chlorine), ballast tanks, water tanks, reservoirs, water features, water and sewer treatment, water and sewer infrastructure.  AS/ NZ 4020 approved.

We recommend that Drizoro Maxseal Flex be reinforced with Drizoro Maxmesh. – the fibreglass reinforcing mesh (woven fibreglass mesh) covers cracks up to 3mm.
Where cracks are moving and or greater than 3 mm it is recommended that Drizoro Maxjoint Elastic be used. Maxjoint Elastic Exress is used to cover 30 mm cracks.

Advantages and Benefits of Maxjoint Elastic Express

1.     Allows movement capability of joint up to 15%.

2.     Very high weather resistance and durability. No maintenance is required.

3.     Excellent adhesion on damp surfaces. No bonding agent is needed.

4.     Non-slump on vertical joints.

5.     Suitable for joints in permanent contact with water, water treatment plants

6.     Easy to apply and finish.

7.     Non-toxic and non-flammable, environmentally friendly.

8.     Can be painted once cured with the desired colour

Drizoro Maxrite 700 for Restoration of Sewer Tanks

For damage to the concrete surfaces walls or floors of sewer tanks that need restoring, joining any non-moving cracks we recommend Drizoro Maxrite 700 for the restoration of any areas.
In older sewer tanks where the cracks have resulted from the weakening or erosion of the concrete’s original structural strength. There is excessive flexing or movement as the sewerage levels in the sewer tanks rise & fall causing these cracks to widen and narrow. As a result of this destruction (weakening) of the sewer tank walls, extra steel reinforcing is to be installed over these cracked areas (as specified by an engineer). Maxrite is applied at a sufficient thickness to strengthen the wall to the original specification or exceed it.

Advantages and Benefits of using Drizoro Maxrite 700 as part of the system of waterproofing membranes for sewers

1.     Corrosion inhibitors prevent corrosion against chlorides and aggressive corroding agents, extending the structure’s service life.

2. The Long Pot life of the mix allows the quick completion of the repair of large areas.

3.     Good chemical resistance in aggressive environmental ambient due to its microsilica content.

4.     Waterproof.Benefits of using Drizoro Maxrite 700 as part of the system of waterproofing membranes for sewers

5.     Offers high resistance to carbonation penetration.

6.     High adhesion to concrete and reinforcements.

7.     Does not require special primers.

8.     The transmitted loads onto the repaired structure.

9.     High impact and mechanical strength.

10.  Long-lasting repairs.

11.  Good thixotropy means there is no need for formwork, successive layers without slump.

12.  Allows high thickness per layer.

13.  Easy workability and application. Repair to damaged concrete can be completed by spraying. Use the wet method.

14.  Single component mortar. It only requires water for mixing and it is odourless,

15.  Suitable for poorly ventilated areas such as sewerage holding tanks.

CONSUMPTION: The estimated consumption of Drizoro Maxrite 700 is approximately 1.85 kg/m2 per mm. thickness.

One 25 Kg bag of Drizoro Maxrite 700fills approximately 13.75 litres  Fills 0.54 litre/ kg of Maxrite.
