Waterproofing ClearForm

Waterproofing Clearform: Your Trusted Solution for Enduring Protection?

Australian builders, designers and architects know that effective waterproofing is essential to protecting structures from the elements. Without it, materials deteriorate prematurely, leading to costly repairs and compromised integrity. Waterproofing Clearform: Your Trusted Solution for Enduring Protection

So, when it comes to permanent formwork systems like Clearform, ensuring a long-lasting waterproof seal is a non-negotiable part of the construction project.

That’s where high-performance waterproofing solutions come into the picture.

Confidence in your materials is everything. No one wants to second-guess the integrity of their pours or deal with costly rework down the line. That’s where Clearform stands out – its unique permanent formwork system gives you a clear view of your work, literally.

With translucent panels, Clearform allows for unobstructed pre-pour engineer inspections, ensuring reinforcement is properly placed and that concrete pours are void-free.

By applying the right waterproofing system for Clearform, builders and architects like you can enhance the longevity of Clearform structures, safeguarding them against moisture-related issues and ensuring reliable performance for years to come.

Key considerations when waterproofing Clearform structures

When waterproofing Clearform structures, particularly for cellars both above and below ground, there are key factors to consider. For instance, choosing the right products and applying them correctly is essential for preserving the integrity of the structure, managing water flow and enhancing efficiency.

Here’s what you need to keep in mind:

  1. Water Flow & Drainage: Underground structures naturally collect water, making effective sealing crucial. Proper drainage systems and sealing around joints are essential to prevent water infiltration and protect the structure.
  2.  Surface Preparation: A smooth, debris-free surface ensures optimal adhesion of waterproofing products. Clean surfaces are key to maximising the effectiveness of each solution.
  3. Durability & Flexibility: Waterproofing systems must withstand environmental stressors like expansion and contraction.
  4.  Efficiency: Builders using Clearform prioritise speed and efficiency. The waterproofing solutions must align with this goal, offering quick application and reliable performance without compromising quality.

Remember: choosing the right waterproofing solution now means fewer problems and less maintenance in the future.

Considering all these factors, we’ve got everything you need! Our waterproofing solutions are designed with efficiency and reliability in mind, providing a seamless application that works as hard as you do.

Why waterproofing Clearform is essential

Time, budget and accessibility – these are the cornerstones of any successful construction project. Whether you are working on a cellar, basement or an above-ground structure, every decision you make must balance efficiency with durability.

Permanent formwork systems like Clearform offer a strong and efficient alternative to traditional UPVC formwork (such as DincelRediwall and Rise Wall), but like all formwork systems, they require proper waterproofing to remain effective over time.

Without it, moisture can seep into joints and cracks, leading to:

• structural weakening over time
• water ingress into habitable spaces
• increased maintenance and costly repairs

To address these challenges, our products: Drizoro MAXSEAL® FLEXDrizoro MAXJOINT® ELASTIC EXPRESS and Drizoro MAXMESH work together to seal joints, reinforce weak points and create a flexible waterproof barrier.

Do not let water compromise your project

For Australian builders, designers and architects, durability and efficiency are at the heart of every project.

Using the right combination of waterproofing products provides lasting protection.

Here’s how Drizoro MAXSEAL® Flex, Drizoro MAXJOINT® ELASTIC EXPRESS and Drizoro MAXMESH work together to create a seamless, high-performance waterproof Clearform:

• Drizoro MAXSEAL® Flex

A cement-based, flexible waterproofing membrane designed to withstand both positive and negative water pressure. This means it protects against water penetration from both inside and outside a structure, making it ideal for areas exposed to hydrostatic pressure, such as cellars and basements.

✓ Applied at 1mm thickness, it forms a strong yet flexible waterproof barrier.
✓ Provides excellent adhesion to concrete and masonry surfaces.
✓ Resistant to movement and cracks, ensuring long-term durability.

• Drizoro MAXMESH

MAXMESH is a reinforcement mesh that enhances the strength and flexibility of MAXSEAL® Flex, particularly in areas prone to movement, cracks or high-water exposure.

✓ Placed within the first coat of MAXSEAL® Flex, it helps bridge gaps and reinforce weak points.
✓ Ensures consistent, long-lasting coverage, reducing the risk of water ingress.
✓ Essential for floor-to-wall joints and structural transitions, where waterproofing failure is most likely to occur.

How to waterproof Clearform with versatile solutions

With our waterproofing product range’s proven system, waterproofing Clearform is a streamlined process that eliminates complexity while providing maximum durability.

Here is a quick overview of how to apply our solutions on Clearform:

Step 1: Preparing the Surface and Joints

  1. Even surfaces: Scuff and wet the area, then apply MAXSEAL® Flex (1mm thick) extending 50mm beyond the guide track.
  2. Uneven surfaces: Use MAXJOINT® ELASTIC EXPRESS instead, applying a 6mm thick, 20mm wide layer along external edges.

Step 2: Applying Waterproofing After Wall Placement

Scuff the wall 100mm above floor level, wet the surface and apply MAXSEAL® Flex(1kg/m²) from 100mm above the joint down to the floor.

Step 3: Reinforcing with MAXMESH (If pouring concrete directly)

• Wet the floor and apply MAXSEAL® Flex (1mm thick) 50mm past the pour area.
• After curing, scuff 100mm above floor level, reapply MAXSEAL® Flex (1kg/m²) and extend 100mm onto the floor and up the wall.

• Embed MAXMESH, allow to cure overnight then apply a final 1kg/m² coat to fully cover it.
