Benefits and Features Of Waterproof ClearCoat

a transparent single pack copolymer emulsion forming a clear, tough, durable, flexible, foot trafficable ClearCoat  Waterproof Membrane Coating in a transparent gloss finish.
To be applied over leaking tiled surfaces like a shower or balcony deck to form a waterproof barrier without the need to remove the original tiled surfaces.

It is formulated to perform under UV exposure and sunlight and is designed for rectification works where the original appearance of the substrate is desired without removing tiles.

ClearCoat is a TOP COATING only. NOT a penetrating sealer. Compatibility testing required before application.

Suitable surfaces:

-sandstone, tiles • pavers• terracotta tiles, timber, concrete, bricks and most masonry surfaces.
WET AREAS, top coating timber floors

Application

Always apply to a completely dry surface free of dampness and/or moisture.

Good preparation is essential.

Surfaces must be dry, clean, sound, stable, and free of dust, grease, loose, flaking, friable material and other contamination and substances.

The surface to be washed with detergent and/or bleach washed off with clean water and allowed to dry thoroughly.

Moss and mould must be removed. Use with a solution of 1 part bleach to 2 parts water and then wash off with clean water.

Allowed to thoroughly dry.

Cracked/damaged or loose grout between tiles/boarders must be completely removed, re-grouted and allowed to cure.

Replace cracked tiles.  Recommended

Cracks and imperfections in concrete/render or screeds should be repaired with Maxrest or other suitable repair mortar or CMA-MS Polymer joint sealant.

Additional coats should be diluted with water at a ratio of 2 parts to 1 part water and applied using a brush or roller.

Always mix thoroughly using an electric drill mixer at a low speed.

CLEARCOAT Transparent Membrane is a 2-3 coat system.
Allow a minimum of 4 hours between coats and 5-7 days for full cure after the final coat at 25°C and 50% R.H.

We recommend you apply all coats within 48 hours to avoid surface contamination between coats.

Minimum dry film thickness – 0.5mm (500 microns) over joints, grout lines, mortar joints, concrete and level surfaces. 0.2mm (200 microns) over tiles.

For a slip-resistant finish –

Apply the first coat and whilst still wet broadcast fine Silica Sand and allow to dry.

Blow off excess Silica Sand before applying additional coats.

Consumption

As a Guide 1 kg diluted ratio mix (2 parts CLEARCOAT to 1 part water) will cover approximately 4.5m² per 2 coats.
It is recommended to do multiple thin coats.

SHELF LIFE AND STORAGE

When stored in an unopened container in a cool (10°-20°), dry environment and stored above ground level, will have a shelf life of approximately 12 months.
Always mix well before use.

Safety Precautions and First Aid:

When handling, DO NOT eat, drink or smoke. Use of gloves, safety boots and protective eyewear. Recommended. Use breathing respirators at all times.
Use in well-ventilated areas.
In case of eye contact, rinse with plenty of water and contact a Doctor or Poisons Information Centre.
If swallowed Do NOT induce vomiting, immediately contact a Doctor or Poisons Information Centre on 131 126 (AUS).
