Product Overview

SEALTUFF-LATEX Primer – WLPL150 is a single component fast drying SBR latex primer that provides excellent high bonding and penetrating properties into concrete and masonry surfaces. In addition to its priming properties,  WLPL150 can also be used as a waterproofing additive for cement based products to enhance adhesion, water resistance and compressive strength.

Typical Applications

  •  Primer over porous surfaces for Sealtuff wet area membranes
  •  Tile primer for floor and wall tile adhesives (able to be diluted 1:1 with water for this application)
  •  Enhancing bond strength of mortars, screeds and renders
  •  Waterproof additive for cement based tile adhesives, grouts, screeds, renders and patching compounds
  •  Priming aerated concrete surfaces and sealing aged, dusty or porous concrete before finishes are applied over

General Application Details

  •  Surfaces must be clean, sound, stable and free of: loose foreign material; existing coatings; laitance; release agents; curing compounds and oil/grease residues.
  •  WLPL150 should be lightly stirred before using, and can be applied to vertical, horizontal and overhead surfaces using a roller, brush or airless spray unit.
  •  Coverage of 1 litre/6m2, this may vary depending on surface porosity.
  •  When applied WLP150 appears in a milky white state, drying clear.
  •  Not suitable for solvent based finishes. Only use water based systems over P‐L150

Important Notes

  •  Not designed for use as an exposed or trafficable sealer
  •  Not to be used for applications in immersed areas
  •  Best storage conditions is in a dry area at room temperature, avoiding humidity and frost
  •  Primer cleaning is best while in a wet state as it will clean up with water. Once dried product will need to be removed by high pressure clean or soapy solutions.
  • Drying times are:
    • Tack free – 15‐30 minutes (will vary with surface porosity)
    • Dry film – 30 minutes
      Based on normal ambient conditions of 23 C
