Drizoro Maxrest®Passive is a one-component liquid product, ready to use as an oxide converter and corrosion protection for reo / re-enforcing bars and other steel and iron surfaces against corrosion.

Once applied Drizoro Maxrest®Passiveneutralizes the corrosion process, reacting quickly with the rust and transforms iron oxide into a stable passive layer giving full protection against corrosion, salts, acid and alkali attack.

Applications for Drizoro Maxrest®Passive

Application Instructions

Surface preparation

Clean down affected area by wire brush, sandblasting or water blasting and wash with clean water. Remove any dust, oil and grease.

Method of Rebar Corrosion Protection

Drizoro Maxrest®Passivecomes ready to be used; it does not require dilution or addition of other materials. Applied by brush, spray gun. Where convenient by immersing the element to be protected. Apply two coats, the second one when the first coat is dry to touch (between 2 – 3 hours at 20ºC). Avoid staining the concrete around the reinforcement. Extra coats of Maxrest®Passive to be applied when required.

Do not apply corrosion protection if these conditions exist:

  1. if temperatures below 5 ºC is expected within 24 hours.
  2. when rainfall is expected within 24 hours.
  3. on frosted or frozen surfaces.


Corrosion Protected Reo, with Maxrest® Passive, can be over coated with other epoxy or polyurethane coatings 24 hours after application.


Clean with water all tools and equipment immediately after use. Clean cured Passive mechanically.

Estimated consumption of Drizoro Maxrest®Passiveis 0,15 kg/ m2 per coat, for a dry film thickness of 50 microns, in order to achieve a total consumption of 0,3 kg/m2 in two coats. Consumption may vary depending on texture and surface conditions, a preliminary test on-site will determine consumption exactly.

Rebar corrosion protection product Drizoro Maxrest®Passiveis supplied in 500 gram, 1kg, 25kg and other amounts on application.


Twelve months in its original unopened packaging, in a dry covered place, protected from humidity and frost with temperatures above 5 ºC.

Safety And Health

Drizoro Maxrest®Passiveis not a toxic product but skin and eye contact must be avoided.

During application use safety goggles and protective gloves. In case of skin contact, wash affected areas with soap and water. In case of eye contact rinse thoroughly with clean water but do not rub. Seek medical attention if irritation persists.

Disposal of the waste product and packaging:-  is the responsibility of the final user. The disposal method must meet official regulations.
